The heating and hot water on Limerston Street ran off an old conventional boiler, with tanks in the loft and a cylinder that couldn’t fill two baths back to back. Josh converted the whole setup to a sealed system. A Vaillant ecoTEC system boiler went on the kitchen wall, and the old cylinder was swapped for a 210 litre Joule unvented cylinder in the same cupboard, giving mains pressure at every tap. Both loft tanks were drained and taken away. Because of the jump in pressure, he went over every joint in the existing pipework and replaced two weeping compression fittings under the bath. The discharge from the cylinder’s safety valve was piped to an outside gully. The G3 paperwork and benchmark were left with the customer.
