Why is it important to service your Baxi boiler?

Safety

Baxi boilers produce a range of specific error codes for each model such as 128 (low water pressure for EcoBlue system) or a 160 (fan fault), which are relatively easy to fix. However, a boiler service covers everything, including spotting or fixing carbon monoxide leaks which can prove fatal. Our team can help prevent exposure to this type of silent gas, keeping you and your family safe.

Heating efficiency

Baxi boilers are one of the most popular boiler brands on the market due to their affordability. Booking an annual servicing will help maintain the heating efficiency of your Baxi boiler, especially during the winter when temperatures drop and bills tend to be higher.

Warranty

In order to keep the warranty for your Baxi boiler valid, the manufacturer states you must have the system serviced annually by a Gas Safe engineer. That means whether you own a Baxi 200 Combi, EcoBlue System, 400 Heat or anything other model, having it serviced gives you a certain level of financial protection from the company.

Save money

Having your Baxi boiler serviced could not only reduce energy bills but it also lowers the chances of experiencing a boiler breakdown. If you arrange an annual servicing, all parts of the boiler will be inspected, with any faulty components replaced where needed, which means it is less likely to break down and require emergency boiler repairs.

Baxi Boiler Service Checklist

Our boiler servicing specialists use a range of detailed tests to ensure your boiler is working up the required standard. This includes:

Visual inspection

Our engineers check for signs of corrosion and any potential leaks, while also ensuring the flame is burning blue, rather than yellow or orange.

Component check

The boiler casing is removed to check safety devices and components like the burner and heat exchange, with each one cleaned as necessary.

Flue terminal check

The flue terminals are checked to ensure they are safely fitted and clear of blockages, while also inspecting the seals, gas and water pipework is in order.

Boiler readings

Gas pressure and water flow settings are taken to verify they are at the required levels.

Last steps

With everything thoroughly inspected, the engineer turns on the boiler to ensure all is running without issue and to identify any areas that may need repair.

What affects the cost of a Baxi boiler service?

When putting together a quote for a Baxi boiler service we take a number of factors into consideration. This includes things such as frequency – if your boiler is not serviced regularly it can develop issues that need to be fixed which could be avoided with scheduled maintenance. Where you live may also have an impact on costs, as could the time of the day you arrange for the servicing – evenings and weekends may be more expensive than during the day midweek.

How often do I need to get my Baxi boiler serviced?

At Homecure we recommend that your Baxi boiler is serviced at least once a year. The best time to book your next slot is when our engineer has completed the current servicing, so you can pick the most convenient day and time a year ahead.

Is it worth getting a boiler serviced?

Servicing is important to ensure the boiler remains safe and running efficiently. Our engineers will check for any issues and make sure it poses to no danger to your home, while also checking it is operating as efficiently as possible to provide hot water and heating. 5 star review  Polite, clean and helpful engineer who took the time to explain the fault with my boiler. Very good service. I have made an appointment for them to come back to fix a dripping tap in my bathroom.

5 star review  I woke up to no heating or hot water...in winter! The boiler had no pressure and was showing an error code. I Googled local plumbers and came across Homecure Plumbers website. I called them and made an appointment for that day. The engineer came round and found the issue. I was given a quote which I accepted and he went about fixing the issue. The engineer was polite, informative and efficient. I went from a stressful situation to having no hot water and heating back on within a couple of hours. Will definitely be using Homecure again in the future.
