Water was creeping out from under the island unit on Calvert Avenue and lifting the edge of the wooden floor. Ryan removed the plinth and found the sink trap had a cracked nut and the waste pipe behind it had a solvent joint that had never been glued all the way round. He replaced the trap, cut out the bad joint and remade it properly, then put a tray under the sink area to catch any future drips. With the plinth back on he ran the sink full and let it drain several times.
