The kitchen on Crooms Hill was being refitted and the customer wanted the boiler out of it altogether. The only sensible spot was a built-in cupboard in the rear bedroom on an outside wall. Josh fitted a Viessmann Vitodens 050-W combi there, running a new 22mm gas pipe under the floorboards from the meter and teeing into the existing heating flow and return in the void. The flue went straight out of the back wall at the right distance from the window. Because it is a room people sleep in, he fitted a carbon monoxide alarm in there as well as the one on the landing. The condensate was run internally to the bathroom waste with a trap. The old boiler was capped and taken out by the kitchen fitters, and the customer was shown the controls and how to repressurise.
