Water softener bypass leak, Pimlico SW1V
Josh was called out to Alderney Street after a damp patch appeared on the basement floor next to the softener. The bypass valve on the back of the unit had a cracked plastic body and was leaking slowly where it joined the hoses. He put the softener into bypass on the main valve, replaced the cracked bypass with a new brass one and fitted fresh braided hoses. The drain hose to the standpipe was also kinked, so he rerouted that and clipped it. The softener was put back into service and left to run a regeneration while he waited. All dry when he left.
